Spicy grilled asparagus
Not only is canola oil base in our North American kitchens, but the versatility of canola oil allows it to adapt well to a wide range of culinary applications.

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar 60 mL
2 c. tablespoons of canola oil 30 mL
1/2 c. teaspoon freshly ground pepper 2 mL
1 clove garlic, crushed 1
24 asparagus spears, trimmed 24
INSTRUCTIONS
1. To prepare the marinade, combine balsamic vinegar, canola oil, pepper and garlic in a large plastic bag sealing.
2. Add asparagus and squeeze the bag so that the asparagus is well coated with marinade. Seal the bag. Let stand for 30 minutes. Remove the asparagus from the marinade and then discard marinade.
3. On a barbecue grill over medium heat asparagus, return occasionally, about 5 to 7 minutes, until tender.
